AUBURN HILLS — Detroit Pistons forward Jason Maxiell has agreed to a four-year, $20 million extension with the Pistons.

The 6-foot-7 forward had until tomorrow to reach an agreement with Detroit. Otherwise, he would have become a restricted free agent this summer.
