Pistons 88, Lakers 85 (OT): Detroit Pistons…

Pistons 88, Lakers 85 (OT): a Detroit Pistons fan’s notes: — It was fun beating the Lakers, especially since they are supposed to be resurgent NBA contenders after thier win over Miami, but let’s keep in mind that the Lakers aren’t what they used to be (totally weak bench) and that Kobe, despite hit clutch shot at the end of regulation, finally played a lousy game with his broken nose. The Pistons should have dominated in regular time, which would have made Kobe in the Final Clutch not be relevant. — It was a great win for our young team, showing our future potential

Detroit Pistons Fan's View: Can We at Least…

Notes from a loyal but frustated Detroit Pistons fan: — The Detroit Pistons are 30th and dead last in NBA attendance at an announced average of 13,344 per game. They should get a boost on Tuesday not just with Kobe and the Lakers visiting the Palace, but also with legendary Motowner Gladys Knight performing the halftime show.

Detroit Pistons March 2012 National and Local TV…

The Detroit Pistons are doing all they can to remain competitive this season. Don’t expect the likes of Greg Monroe , Rodney Stuckey , and Ben Gordon to give up the fight

Not much else going on in the NBA world today.

Pistons Studying Magic to Pull Out a Win

The Detroit Pistons may not have started the 2011-12 season off so well, but they ended 2011 on a good note. On the last day of last year they finally won a game during their second date with the Indiana Pacers , and they did it handily

Detroit Pistons Fan’s View: Don’t Be so Cynical

Happy New Year, fellow and sister Detroit Pistons fans. Our 96-88 New Year’s Eve win over the previously unbeaten Indiana Pacers ensures that we won’t go 0-66 for the lockout-shortened NBA season. We should even do better than 6-60, and hopefully better than 16-50, even through 26-40 (much less a playoff berth) seems beyond our reach.

That’s all for today.

The Detroit Pistons Should Start Brandon Knight:…

In the Detroit Pistons ‘ second game on December 28 th , rookie guard Brandon Knight blew up for 23 points, six assists and three 3-pointers on 10-of-13 shooting. Unfortunately, the Pistons’ lost the game to the Cleveland Cavaliers . Knight won’t do this every night

Detroit Pistons Fan’s View: NBA Should Cease and…

On Christmas Day, the NBA will perceive itself as giving the gift that keeps on giving: Five televised games in a row, none overlapping (unless one happens to go to triple overtime), to sate the hoops appetite from noon through midnight Eastern Time, or starting on the West Coast while the kids are still ripping open their gifts.

Detroit Pistons Fan’s View: Ups and Downs in Final…

If the Detroit Pistons ‘ 90-89 victory at Cleveland would have been in the regular season rather than the preseason closer, we fans would have been thrilled and fulfilled with the come-from-behind win. Rookie Brandon Knight stole a Cavs’ inbounds pass with less to 10 second to go, and rather than intentionally fouling, the Pistons raced up the floor and fed Austin Daye , who swished the winning two free throws. But winning isn’t the main point of exhibition games.

That’s all for today.

Detroit Pistons Fan’s View: Goodbye, ‘Dyess

Antonio McDyess receives my salute in his retirement after 17 NBA seasons. Hopefully my fellow and sister Detroit Pistons fans will offer the same.

Detroit Pistons Fan’s View: Good Idea to Keep…

The pay raise for retaining Rodney Stuckey by the Detroit Pistons is positive to see, even though the price tag of $25 million for three years seems quite steep, like almost all the salaries these days. When frustration mounts in this regard I always stop myself with reminders of much these jokers on Wall Street rake in and how much these mediocrities in Hollywood or in talk journalism are receiving, and then it doesn’t seem so bad. Rodney Stuckey caught some flak last season for falling out with Coach John Kuester, but he certainly wasn’t the only Piston in that boat

Detroit Pistons Fan’s View: Best Wishes to a…

What’s with all these former Detroit Pistons —the latest being Richard “Rip” Hamilton—moving on the play with the enemy, the Chicago Bulls ? First, after the old Bay Boys era, there were Dennis Rodman and John Salley (in a far less prominant role than the Worm), winning additional championship rings in Chitown

The players are getting scant sympathy during the NBA lockout, and they won’t get much from me either.
