AUBURN HILLS – The Detroit Pistons played a game Friday night with a result that looked a lot like late-season tanking by a lottery-bound team. Except they didn’t intend it. The Pistons returned home with a thunderous thud in a 113-97 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks that underscored just how disadvantaged they can be against particularly athletic teams.

Bynum hit a 3-pointer to force overtime, then scored five points in the extra period as the Pistons rallied for a 110-107 win over the Charlotte Bobcats and avoided a loss to the NBA’s worst team

JaVale McGee rebounds missed free throw to lift…

DENVER – JaVale McGee rebounded a missed free throw following a basket with five seconds remaining and dunked to give the Nuggets a 116-115 win over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night. Not a bad Denver debut for McGee, who completed a four-point possession salvaged Denver’s dignity after the Nuggets blew a 25-point lead. Detroit’s Ben Gordon scored 45 points and made all nine of his 3-pointers, tying an NBA record.

Detroit Pistons stunned by Denver Nuggets'…

DENVER – A four-point possession in the final 5.6 seconds spoiled a tremendous offensive outburst by the Detroit Pistons’ Ben Gordon and sent the Denver Nuggets to a 116-115 victory Wednesday. The Pistons led by three when Aaron Afflalo scored on a drive and was fouled by Gordon with 5.6 seconds left.

LOS ANGELES – Detroit Pistons guard Rodney Stuckey even found walking and pulling on a pair of jeans almost too painful to bear Sunday afternoon. The Pistons lost 87-83 in overtime to the Los Angeles Clippers, a game they led by nine points in the fourth quarter, though the lingering issue is Stuckey’s left big toe, which rendered him a completely different player
