DENVER – A four-point possession in the final 5.6 seconds spoiled a tremendous offensive outburst by the Detroit Pistons’ Ben Gordon and sent the Denver Nuggets to a 116-115 victory Wednesday. The Pistons led by three when Aaron Afflalo scored on a drive and was fouled by Gordon with 5.6 seconds left.

AUBURN HILLS – The Detroit Pistons won a game, in overtime, against a division leader – the storied Los Angeles Lakers, no less – and inasmuch as we have dismissed a few of their multitudinous losses as valuable setbacks in the growth process, Tuesday’s 88-85 win honestly must be termed as an invaluable victory with little growth value, brought home in the vital closing minutes by about as veteran a group as the Pistons can muster.

AUBURN HILLS – Detroit Pistons forward Tayshaun Prince agreed to take two questions after a season-worst, 29-point loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night. He actually took three, he just gave the same answer to two of them. “Still on vacation,” Prince said, then repeated it twice more, when asked to explain the 97-68 blowout at The Palace of Auburn Hills

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Richard Hamilton scored 14 points in his return to The Palace, and the Chicago Bulls shut down the Detroit Pistons in a 99-83 victory Wednesday night. Hamilton started after missing the previous two games with a sore left groin.
