AUBURN HILLS – Detroit Pistons rookie Vernon Macklin will be activated for Wednesday’s game in Atlanta, head coach Lawrence Frank said today. Macklin will see time against the Hawks at power forward, Frank said, after averaging just more than 14 points and 14 rebounds in nearly a month with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, before the NBA Developmental League season ended.

AUBURN HILLS – Detroit Pistons reserves Jonas Jerebko and Will Bynum provided the fourth-quarter spark in turning a close game through three quarters into a 102-95 victory over the injury-depleted Orlando Magic on Tuesday at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Jerebko broke a tie and gave the Pistons the lead for good with a 3-pointer to start his seven-point fourth quarter, and Bynum added all six of his points in the quarter – with all their scoring coming in the first eight minutes of the period – as Detroit pushed the lead to 13 with those two in the game. All 13 of those fourth-quarter points by the bench duo came in the first eight minutes.
